Foster Program |
|
All of the
dogs the Humane Society has waiting for adoption are in foster homes.
Some of our cats are also in foster homes. We are desperately
in need of more foster homes, especially for dogs. The Humane
Society of West Alabama pays the expenses for our animals in foster
care; you provide the love and a temporary home environment while
the animal is waiting for a permanent home. In particular, the Humane
Society pays for veterinary care, and can provide other items such
as food, cat litter, or a dog house. If you are interested in becoming
a foster 'parent' to a dog or cat, please
fill out our Foster application, or contact
the Humane Society.

2. Food and fresh water must be available at all times.
3. If you already have a cat, consider carefully whether it will
accept the newcomer.
4. If you have a dog that comes indoors, can you keep it separated
from the cat?
5. Will you be able to spend some time with the cat every day?
6. Have you considered placement of the litter box?
7. Do you have a pet carrier?
8. Litter boxes should be scooped on a daily basis.
