The Internet gets a Lost Dog Home
The " black female Pug found in West Tuscaloosa area"
(by a Texas couple on their way to Georgia) has been reunited with
her parents in Houma, Lousiana:
She was lost from a Louisiana couple after a car accident on I-59/20
near the Western Bypass. A Texas couple, on their way to Georgia,
saw her later on the side of the road and picked her up. Not knowing
where she came from, they took her to Georgia with them. Looking
online from Georgia, they found the HSWA Lost and Found web site,
so they sent e-mail about the dog, and HSWA posted a FOUND notice
on the web site. Knowing they were unable to keep her in their apartment
back in TEXAS, the couple turned her in to the Southeastern Pug
Rescue group outside of Augusta. Meanwhile, her Louisiana owners
and DCH staff tried to find the dog. Weeks later, the Humane Society
got this note: "I had been trying to help the Lousiana couple
find their dog while they were still in the hospital and had no
transportation nor did they know their way around T-town...An Angel
"popped" your web site up on my computer while I was looking
for something else and there was the ad!!...She was adopted out
1 week before we found her, then it took another week to get her
back...She had been missing 7 wks when she was found. She had been
WELL taken care of and microchipped and spayed.... but that was
great!! Was glad I saw the "found ad" posted on your web
site...EVERYONE is sooooo happy to have Lucy (aka Bama while she
was missing) back, and she was toooo glad to get back to her Mom
and Dad and sister...... thanks...... Wanda

Madeline was lost but now is found
"Hi there,
I am very excited to report that Madeline, one of the lost dogs
on your site, has been found and is home safe! She ran away the
night before I moved to Texas and had been missing for over a month
when I received a phone call from some wonderful people that they
had found her on the side of the road in Tuscaloosa. Madeline had
been hit by a car but luckily she was able to be put back together
with some pins and a plate. She had broken her leg and pelvis but
you would never know that by watching her now! Madeline is VERY
happy to be back at home with her family and only has a few more
weeks until she gets the OK to run and play as much as she wants!
Thank you for keeping her up on the website! ...Many amazing friends
and strangers helped to bring Maddy back home and we are so grateful!!!
Attached is a picture of Madeline as she recovers. Thanks again!"
