NEWS

The Humane Society Flea Market will be closed July 4&5. The Flea Market will be open as usual beginning July 11. The Adoption Center is open by appointment only through the summer.

The Humane Society has a new Dog Adoption Center; a home for dogs waiting for adoption. With the assistance of Bryant Bank, we arranged to purchase a small property, and we are now seeking donations to help us buy the things we need (fencing, kennels, etc) to make it a good temporary home for dogs. Our new Dog Adoption Center will house up to 14 dogs, in addition to those in individual foster homes. Look here for information on how you can help (make a donation - money is what we need most right now.) Look here for information on becoming a foster home for dogs or cats - we can always use more even with our new facility.

That Handsome Jethro

Here are a couple of recent pics of Jethro – you can see how handsome he is! He is SO wonderful and we adore him!!! He is absolutely the best little guy; he loves his brothers and they have such a great time playing together. He has been such a wonderful and delightful addition to our family.
Thanks so much for all you do – if it weren’t for you we wouldn’t have this wonderful little guy who occupies such a huge place in our hearts now!

Prissy is happy in her new home in Mobile

Here are some pictures of Prissy and me. She is fitting right in. She does not let Dublin get away with anything. They love playing together.

Thanks again for your help with Prissy.

Look at Mango NOW

Last spring I adopted Mango from the Humane Society. She was ... named Mango while being treated for a bad case of mange when she was a puppy. Attached is a photo of Mango in my yard during the [March] snow. As you can see, she has no problem with mange now and has a gorgeous coat. She has been a wonderful addition to my family... Her favorite activities are playing fetch, barking at the neighbor's cat, and lying next to me so I can scratch her tummy while I watch TV.
Thanks for a great dog, and all the work you guys do!

Don't forget to check our Featured Pet; this may be the one for you.  The current featured pet is Latte, an almost-white charmer, rescued from disaster as a kitten and ready for a new home.  And look here for other great pets that were recently featured; some are still available.

Check out our Events Calendar to keep up with what's happening at the Humane Society. And don't forget to check our Volunteer Calendar if you have time to help with these events.
