-Cat Adoption Center-
The Cat Adoption Center is a home for orphaned cats and kittens who are waiting for their "fur"ever home. The Cat Shelter houses between 30 and 40 free-range felines. We are a cage-free facility, so the cats are divided by age and personality to maximize their quality of life. Most of the cats the Humane Society has available for adoption are housed at the Cat Adoption Center, however, a few are in foster care because they are too shy for our busy shelter. During kitten season, we often have too many kittens to house, so they sometimes stay in foster homes while they overcome illnesses common in kittens or until there is room at the shelter.
The Cat Adoption Center is a fun, loving place for adoptable cats and kittens. We are open to the public every Saturday from 10am until 2pm.*
Bring a friend, grab a cup of coffee, and come play with some kitties!
(We are also open weekdays by appointment for adoptions.)
We are located at 2430 36th Street in Northport.
This is not a drop-off facility. Because we are cage-free, all cats/kittens must be fully vetted prior to coming into our shelter. Furthermore, since we are a no-kill shelter, there is often a wait list, so please call, email, or fill out the Contact Us form prior to coming to the shelter/if you want to inquire about surrendering a cat to us.
*NOTE: During the COVID-19 pandemic, these "Caturday" open houses do not happen every Saturday. Please stay tuned to our social media for announcements on when we are open.
